JEWEL ANN (DODSON) SANDERS
Jewel Ann (Dodson) Sanders, 93, Madison, MO passed away Monday, June 9, 2025, at her home. She was born December 18, 1931, in Centralia, MO the daughter of the late Kenneth “Ken” Dodson and Haven (Mouser) Dodson. On April 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Nevelle Sanders. They enjoyed 68 years together prior to his death on October 7, 2020.
She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her son, Scott Sanders, and his wife, Michelle of Rocheport, MO; two daughters, Susan “Susie” Everhart of Madison, MO, and Sharon “Sherry” Walters and her husband, Paul, of Blue Springs, MO; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; extended family members and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Jewel was a dedicated homemaker and a passionate entrepreneur. She displayed her talents as a corn shuck craftsman at Silver Dollar City for over 50 years, where she touched the lives of countless visitors. Making memories with family and friends at Silver Dollar City was the highlight of her year.
She was a faithful member of Tulip Christian Church where she shared her musical talents over the years. Jewel enjoyed reading, playing computer games and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Interment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Centralia, MO. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Oliver Funeral Home in Centralia, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centralia High School Music Department or to the 4-H Foundation, c/o Oliver Funeral Home, P.O. Box 125, Centralia, MO 65240.
