James E. "Jim" Case, age 76 of Cedar Mills, OH passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. Jim was born on November 4, 1947, in Honaker KY, to the late John and Essie (Parsons) Case. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Lena (Bennett) Case, two sisters Ima Jean Kidd, and Patricia Ann Case, two brothers Edgar Ray Case and Doug Case.
Survivors include his son Joshua Case of Cedar Mills Ohio; daughter Melissa (Dink) Grooms of West Union OH; three brothers John (Audrey) Case Jr., Jeff (Heather) Case, and Alroy (Laura) Case all of Peebles Ohio. One sister Brenda (Randy) Robinson of Wamsley Ohio. Three grandchildren Cody (Megan) Grooms, Josie (Wesley) Brown, Morgan (Matt Young) Grooms. Five great-grandchildren Cole, Rosalee, Caseton, Jettson, and Alice. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Jim was a Carpenter most of his life. He built many homes in the county as well as worked construction for many years. He was proud of his service in the Army's 9th infantry during the Vietnam War, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going to car shows. Being around his family, telling jokes, and trading were some of his favorite things to do.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 11:00 AM, until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 11, 2024 at Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home, 216 W. Mulberry St., West Union. Chuck Reeves will officiate. Burial will follow at Case Family Cemetery, Cedar Mills, where military honors will be conducted by the Adams County and US Army Honor Guards.
