John (Joe) Joseph Marshall, 'Lil' Joe, age 76, of Isanti, MN peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday, September 21, 2024. He was lovingly surrounded and released to Heaven by his loved ones. Memorial service 12:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 2nd at Strike Life Tributes in CAMBRIDGE. A time for visiting will start at 11:00 A.M. and a lunch will follow at the Isanti VFW.
Born January 24, 1948, to Virgil and Lois Marshall in Amery, WI, Joe spent his childhood running amuck with his six siblings, collecting milk from local dairies; and later as a teenager, terrorizing the streets of Isanti in his hot rod, a Plymouth Roadrunner. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1966 and would go on to work for the entirety of his life. Highly driven and a dedicated family man, Joe devoted his life to providing for his family. He was a valued employee for T Brothers Trucking, Coors Energy, and Abco Energy Services. He was also well-known for his restaurant and bar in Isanti, 'Lil' Joe's. On May 17, 1978, Joe married Rebecca Lynn Harrison in Watertown, SD. They would go on to live in Colorado from 1980-1988 where Joe enjoyed the wide-open blue skies and mountain peaks. Between the mountains of Colorado and the lakes of Minnesota, he could be found outdoors – going to his camper at Eagle Point, cruising around on the pontoon, fishing, hunting with his grandchildren, and snowmobiling. He finished the I-500 race from Winnipeg to St. Paul. He loved bowling, archery, pull tabs, and a cold Busch Light. There was never a dull moment with Joe in the room – a man with a true twinkle in his eye – you were sure to get dragged onto the dance floor, get a cheeky response, a little side joke, or a giggle in any conversation. One thing is for certain, you walked away with a grin on your face.
Preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lois; brother, Tom; sister, Rosie, Mary Ann and brother-in-law, Dick Braun. He is survived by his wife, Becki; daughters, Brenda (Tom) Ramberg, Jodi (Tony) Hennen, Wendy (John) Hanson, Missy Marshall; sons, Michael Daboll, Travis (Kylee) Marshall, John (Brigit) Marshall; brothers, Gene (Karleen) Marshall, Dick (Cindy) Marshall, Robert (Tina) Marshall; sister, Patty (Todd) Lillion; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express our thanks for the exceptional help and care given by Allina Hospice, Cindy and Dick Marshall and Patty.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Joe for many years at T Brothers. He was such a wonderful person to work with. Hard working, committed, driven, compassionate are just a few words I could use to describe Lil Joe. I always had a simile on my face after my conversations with Joe. T Brothers appreciates all that he did for our company and we will miss him. Peace!
