Joseph Ambrose Meyer, 91, of Antwerp, Ohio passed away at home Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Joe was born in Antwerp on March 10, 1933, a son of the late Regina Veronica (Kenner) and John Joseph Meyer.
He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Joe went on to work at General Motors for 37 years. He was devoted to God and his church and thoroughly enjoyed being a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. He was always known to cheer for the Antwerp Archers and The Ohio State Buckeyes but his greatest joy was raising his family with the love of his life, Sue.
Joe will be sadly missed by his wife, Sue (Young) to whom he was married July 16, 1955; children, Steve (Connie) Meyer, Susie Miller, Randy Meyer, Brenda (Tim) Copsey, Beth (Bob) Freeman and Bruce (Tina) Meyer; siblings, Barbara Siebert, Virginia Kunesh, Regina (Gary) Meek; sisters-in-law, Shirley Meyer and Jean Young; 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Joe was also preceded in death by his twin brother, John Meyer.
Viewing is Tuesday, October 8th, 4 - 7 PM, with a vigil at 7 PM at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W. River Street, Antwerp.
Joe's funeral mass is Wednesday, October 9th, 10:30 am, with viewing 9:30 - 10:15 AM at Saint Michael's Catholic Church, 100 Antwerp Drive, Hicksville, Ohio.
He will be laid to rest in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.
Memorials are to Community Health Professionals or Paulding County Senior Center.
