John Balint Obituary

John A. (Papa John) Balint, age 79, of Homestead, PA, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Embassy of Park Avenue. He was born January 22, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John Balint and Mary (Oshurak) Balint. He was married to Dona Benteler, later to Marsha Balint and is survived by his long-term girlfriend Annie Eland of Meadville.
John was a graduate of Munhall High School. John was employed at the steel mills in Pittsburgh as a crane operator and retired from U.S. Steel. John served in the U.S. Army. He loved golfing, fishing at Pymatuning, landscaping, and being outdoors. His favorite song was Don't Mess with my Toot Toot.
John is survived by 3 sons: John Jr, (Heather) Balint of Punta Gorda, FL, James "Buster" (Ali) Balint of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert (Michelle) Balint of Pittsburgh, PA, 1 daughter: Heather (John) Dunn of Moon Township, 10 grandchildren: Justin, Kristie, Samantha, Jessica, Alex, Braiden, Silas, Roman, Natalie, and Liam, 3 great grandchildren: Abigail, Khloe, and Jayden.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a son, Michael Balint, 3 brothers: Robert, James "The Mayor", and Raymond, and one sister, Patricia.
Family and friends are invited to join a blessing service for John at 10:00am on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at St. Margaret Mary Church, 1 Parish Place, Coraopolis, PA, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Veterans of Foreign Wars from 11:30-3:30 pm, 412 Mulberry St, Coraopolis, PA, 15108.
