John R. Brandt, age 57 of Holland, Iowa, passed away at home on October 16, 2024, under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. He was born December 22, 1966, son of John C. and Dixie (Gage) Brandt.
John graduated from Cedar Falls High School in May of 1985. On July 22, 1994, he married the love of his life, Tina Leadley, in Waterloo, Iowa. They lived most of their married life in Grundy County. He worked at various truck shops and stated that he had his retirement job driving dump truck at Aspro, Inc.
John lived for his family and loved the time he spent with them. He also loved performance cars, “Mopar or No Car”, following politics, and was up for a good conversation about current events.
John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tina and their children; Andrew (fiancé Sarah Thomas) of Shell Rock, Anthony and Kirsten Brandt of Waterloo, Alexander (fiancé Taylor Howe) of Reinbeck, and Amber (fiancé Matthew Staniszewski) of Cedar Falls; grandchildren Rileigh, Auriella, Vada, Noah, Lura and Elijah; brothers, Jamie (Robin) Brandt of Dunkerton and Jason (Nicole) Brandt of Fort Collins, Colorado; niece Madison, and nephews Gage, Jacob, and Charlie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Grundy Center Community Center Legion Room in Grundy Center, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to John’s family.
