Mary Anna Lewis Dorsey, beloved daughter of the late Clarence Lewis and Margaret Davis Drummond, was born on October 5, 1937 in Assawoman, Virginia. She departed this life on April 2, 2025 at her residence in Pocomoke, Maryland.
"Anna," as she was lovingly known, was educated in the public schools of Accomack County. She entered the workforce at an early age.
On October 8, 1960, she married the love of her life, Henry Dorsey. Their union was blessed with fifty-one years of marital bliss until his demise in 2011.
Anna was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Mappsville, Virginia. There she served on the Usher Board, Missionary, Willing Workers, and assisted in the kitchen when needed. She loved to help anyone in need.
In her spare time, Anna enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing, completing crossword puzzles, and cooking. Anna's sweet and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Sleep on Mom Anna, take your rest, we loved you, but God loved you best.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Claybrook and Joanna Esquire; and brother, John Drummond.
Anna leaves to cherish her loving memory: her godsons, Ronald (Melody) Smith and Kevin Smith; goddaughters, Karen Smith, Lavern Smith, and Valerie Tingle; brothers, Grant Drummond and Gregory Drummond; sister-in-law, Earline Drummond; special cousins, Carrie Dennis, Denise Davis, and Georgie Smith; special friends, Bertha Wilson, Mamie Bibbins, Luvenia Justice, Pearl Davis, Oletha Bloxom, Angel Bloxom, Kay Morris, Gloria Griffin, Amy Dorsey, Carol Dorsey, and Peggy Dorsey; and a host of other relatives and friends.
