John Wallace Elliott Jr., age 63, a beloved figure of Moundville, AL left this world on August 8, 2024, peacefully at home after his battle with brain cancer. John was born March 29, 1961, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at Druid City Hospital to Wallace & Carolyn Elliott.
He is preceded in death by his father; Wallace Elliott Sr., and his brother; David Elliott. Survivors include his wife Kara Elliott of 3.5 years; his daughters, Brittney, Kristen, and Lauren Elliott; his son Chase Elliott; his stepsons, T.J., Josh, and Trey Upchurch; his grandson, Grayson Beck; his brother Scott Elliott; and his mother, Carolyn Elliott.
John was a dedicated and hardworking man who brought warmth and joy to everyone he met. He was an unforgettable spirit and was known for his big personality, sense of humor, and work ethic. He worked several years in many different professions including police officer, construction worker, welder, and a truck driver, he was a jack of all trades who could do anything he put his mind to. He was a faithful and loving friend who didn't mind lending a hand to those in need. He lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with family.
"Therefore, you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart with rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you" John 16:22
Even though we have experienced a great loss, we are comforted by our faith in Jesus knowing that we will reunite with John again at the gates of Heaven. John's memory and legacy will remain in the hearts of his children and family along with all of those who knew and loved him.
We would like to show our appreciation to all the doctors and nurses at UAB Hospital in Birmingham along with Aveanna Hospice of Demopolis for their outstanding care that enriched not only John's life but the life of his family. We also thank friends and family members who helped support and love us during this difficult time. We could never thank you all enough.
Funeral services will be held August 12, 2024 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Dee McGuire officiating, burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Austin Elliott, Mike Freeman, Clifford Daniel, Jeff Donaldson, Toby Banks, and Tim Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grayson Beck and Jacob Knighton. In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations can be made to Aveanna Hospice of Demopolis.
