Fredrick Suter Obituary

Fredrick Merlin Suter
June 8, 1941 - April 17, 2025
Fredrick Merlin Suter (Fred), passed away on April 17, 2025, in Wenatchee, WA. Born on June 8, 1941 in Hudson SD, Fred dedicated much of his life to serving his country and community.
Retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Fred was deeply respected by his peers for his commitment and leadership. His military career left a lasting imprint, not only on his own life but also on those who had the honor of serving alongside him.
After his military service, Fred pursued and achieved a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, which fueled his passion for community development and infrastructure improvement. This academic achievement was a testament to his dedication to lifelong learning and his commitment to contributing positively to urban environments.
Fred was a masterful tinkerer, a hobby that brought him immense joy and satisfaction. He was known for creating inventive homes for urban flyers and intricate timekeepers for clock watchers. His ability to fix anything mechanical became a running joke among his family and friends, though he often quipped that he "could fix anything except for a broken heart."
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Joan Suter; sons, Charles and Thomas Suter; daughter, Tamara White; grandchildren, Katherine, Megan, Matthew, Emily, and Brooklynn; and great-grandchild, Johanna. Fred's legacy is carried on through his family, whom he loved deeply and who cherished every moment spent with him.
Fred's life was one of service, creativity, and devotion to his family and country. He will be remembered for his strong character, his innovative spirit, and his unwavering support of his loved ones. His contributions to his field and his community will not be forgotten.
Fred's celebration of life will be at the Wenatchee Veterans Hall on June 7th from 11:00 to 2:00. Lunch will be served.

I only met my cousin once, many, many years ago. My Dad, Henry Talsma, shared many stories of his nephew, and how proud he was of Fred's service to our country.
