John Hull Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center - Kimball Township on Dec. 5, 2024.
John Hewitt Hull, age 71, life-long resident of Kimball Township, passed away on December 2, 2024, at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. Born on July 16, 1953, in Port Huron, Michigan, he was the cherished son of the late Marshall and Leola (Atkins) Hull.
John is survived by his three devoted children, Deana Whitmore and her husband Adam Martin of Huntsville, Tennessee, Thomas Hull and his wife Jessica of Emmett, and Marchell Wehrwein of Port Huron. His life was further enriched by his adoring grandchildren, Icess Whitmore, Christian Martin, Haley Hull, Chloe Craft, Rebecca Craft, Johnny Hull, Brett Hull, Faith Hull, Nathan Hull, Weston Hull, Anngelica Hull, and Cody Wehrwein. John also leaves behind the mother of his children, Barbara Buehrle, and his sister-in-law, Susan Hull, who will all hold his memory dear.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diana J. Hull, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage after they wed on August 16, 1997, in Kimball Township. Diana's passing on September 19, 2013, was a profound loss for John. He was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas Hull, and his best friend, Richard Buehrle.
John's work ethic was unparalleled. He dedicated 42 years to Mueller Brass, where he began in forging and concluded his career as a respected custodian before retiring in 2015. His commitment to the company echoed his father's, who also retired from Mueller Brass, making it not just a workplace but a family tradition.
Beyond his professional life, John was a man of many interests. He was an avid hunter and took great pleasure in farming. His passion for World War II models showcased his love for history and attention to detail. Before his amputations, John could often be found working in the barn.
However, the centerpiece of John's world was undoubtedly his grandchildren. Each moment spent with them was treasured, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments and growth. They were the light of his life, and his influence will undoubtedly be felt for generations to come.
A gathering and viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Grace Memorial Life Celebration Center, 4521 Ravenswood Road, Kimball, MI 48074. A sharing of memories will begin at 6:00 p.m Interment will take place at Kinney Cemetery privately.
