John Michael Peffer, 68 of Richmond, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 17, 2025, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 701 S. Noland Rd., Independence, MO, 64050. John was born on January 11, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois to John Milburn and Jessie Loveedah (Braxdale) Peffer. He was a graduate of Lexington High School. John worked in autobody mechanics most of his life and later obtained his CDL and became an over the road truck driver. In high school John excelled in wrestling, winning numerous awards and medals. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, John enjoyed sports cars, watching the Barrett-Jackson car auctions, and he was an avid Chiefs Football fan.
John is survived by a daughter, Johnelle Peffer-Wollenberg and husband Jerry of Waverly, MO; three grandchildren, Joel Ontiveros, Jacob Ontiveros, and Jackson Ontiveros; three great-grandchildren, Ayda Mae Ontiveros, Emerlynn Rose Ontiveros, and Asher Dever-Kuntz; and many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Milburn Peffer and his mother, Jessie “Loveedah” Nadler.
