John Charles (JC) Sullivan, age 81, a cherished patriarch of his family, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024. JC was a man of warmth, humor, and unwavering dedication to his country and family, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.
JC was the devoted husband to his late wife, Karen, with whom he shared over 50 years of memories and love. He was a guiding force in the lives of his children, Erin and Fran Lally, Catherine (Kitty), and he held a special place in his heart for his late daughter, Mary. Brother of Mary Jo, Margaret, Jean, Edward and the late Marilyn, Rodger, Rita and Rosemary. His role as a grandfather was one he cherished profoundly, doting on his grandchildren Francis, Mary, Colleen, Liam, and Cormac Lally, Maeve and Kieran Andang, with an endless supply of tricks, stories, wisdom, and laughter.
JC was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in the Second Armored Division. He is a past Commander of the American Legion Post 196 and Post 801. J.C. (John) Sullivan has been a very devoted and active alumni of Benedictine High School class of 1960. He was deeply rooted in his Irish heritage and history. He served as co-host of The Gerry Quinn Irish Radio Program on Sunday mornings.
Perhaps JC's greatest passion was writing. He authored numerous articles and was published in the Irish Echo, Nordonia Hills, and DD214 newspapers. His Cleveland stories also appeared in the Mayo News (Ireland).
Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of JC during visitation on Thursday, September 26, from 3 pm to 7 pm at JARDINE FUNERAL HOME, 15822 Pearl Rd, Strongsville. Funeral Liturgy will be held on Friday, September 27, at 1 PM at ST. JOHN NEUMANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16271 Pearl Rd, Strongsville. It will be a time to honor his spirit, reflect on the joy he brought to so many lives, and bid a fond farewell to a man who was deeply loved and truly one of a kind.

JC is a BHS Classmate from my class of 1960. He has been a devoted man with a great heart in helping with our Retirees Bengals Family Luncheon Social Events by taking our luncheon videos and sending these luncheon videos in emails and on UTube to our local Luncheon Retirees and out of state classmates as well. We will all lmiss John greatly but he will always be remembered by his generosity, kindness, and friendship that he has given and showed to all of our luncheon retirees. We give thanks to John for all of his help in making our BHS Retirees Bengals Family Luncheon Social Event a great success in bringing a tremendous group of Catholic Men Bonded together in FRIENDSHIP!
May He Rest in Peace!
Amen!
Bob Taylor Class of 1960.

JC and The Sullivan´s living a door down on East 116th Street in the Buckeye Road neighborhood. I remember his mom playing "Peg O´ My Heart on the piano and his dad stopping home while working as a detective with the Cleveland Police Dept.
