John Thomas "Tommy" Vaughan, born on December 18, 1966, in Newport News, VA, passed away peacefully in his hometown on October 17, 2024, at the age of 57.
Tommy had a zest for life that was as vibrant as the beads he loved to collect and admire. His passion for listening to music lifted not only his spirit but also those around him, bringing joy and comfort to family and friends. Stuffed animals filled his home and heart with warmth, serving as a testament to his gentle and kind nature.
Throughout his life, Tommy found community and camaraderie through the ARC Program and Versability Resources Program. These programs were more than just affiliations; they were a source of friendship, learning, and joy for him.
Preceded in death by his loving parents, Victor L. Vaughan, Jr., and Maragaret Verell Vaughan, Tommy is survived by a family that cherished him deeply. His sister, Veleta Coffin, and brother, Victor Vaughan III, along with his sister, Virginia Hintze, will forever hold his memory close. His laughter and spirit will continue to echo in the lives of his nephews, Steven Coffin, Edward Coffin, Victor Vaughan IV, Danny Vaughan, and Garrett Hintze, and his beloved niece, Katherine Hintze.
Tommy's life was a testament to the power of simple joys and a reminder of the love and connection that truly matter. While his absence leaves a void, his memory will inspire us to embrace life with the same joy and kindness that he did every day.
