Howard E. Smith, age 82, of Wadsworth, died Monday, September 8, 2025, at Autumnwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rittman, following a 12 year battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Howard was born on July 13, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, and was adopted by the late Doris and Paul Caudill.
He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and was stationed in Germany. He was employed by Buehler's in Wadsworth for 29 years, retiring in 2005.
He married Barbara Wilson on July 18, 1964 and she survives.
He enjoyed classic cars, especially his 1968 Chevelle Malibu. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife, Barbara; daughters, Cindy (Bryan) Pullin of Vermillion, Kelly (Scott) Whitten of Wadsworth and Melissa (Travis) Gerspacher of Smithville; grandchildren, Kyle, Alexis and Olivia; brother, Glenn Caudill; and sister, Paula Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Judy Miller.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 12:15 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Seville with Glenn Caudill officiating.
The family would like to thank Autumnwood and Summa Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Howard.
