Jonetta Kay Harr
March 29, 1942 – March 27, 2025
Jonetta Kay Harr, a dedicated nurse, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Westminster, Colorado, surrounded by family.
Born on March 29, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, Jonetta was the daughter of John T. Gregory and Doretta R. Nuss. She spent her early years in Seymour, Indiana, where she graduated from Seymour High School in 1960. She then pursued her passion for nursing at Norton Infirmary Nursing School, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1963. Throughout her career as a Registered Nurse, Jonetta served in various healthcare settings, from hospitals to family medicine and occupational health, always demonstrating unwavering compassion and care.
In April 1970, Jonetta married Lynn Clayton, with whom she shared a life until his passing in 2008. She spent more than 50 years in
North Vernon, Indiana, where she was an active member of First Baptist and later Bethel Baptist Church. In August 2016, she found love again and married James Harr, remaining together until his passing in August 2024.
In 2022, Jonetta moved to Westminster, Colorado, to be closer to her son and grandsons. She cherished her time with family and was especially fond of the family dogs. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on those who knew her.
Jonetta was preceded in death by her parents, John Gregory Sr. and Doretta Nuss; brother John Gregory Jr.; husband, Lynn Clayton (38 year); husband, James Harr (8 years). She is survived by her sister, Julia (Bill) Helt; son, Greg (Amanda) Clayton; beloved grandsons Lennox Clayton and Maxwell Clayton.
Jonetta's legacy of love, service, and faith will be forever remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held on June 21, 2025, at Bethel Baptist Church in
North Vernon, Indiana from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. with Brother Ricky Persons officiating. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services were entrusted with the care of local arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made in honor of Jonetta through the funeral home to the Bethel Baptist Church.
