Jorge Estrada Obituary
Jorge Alberto Estrada, born November 20, 1959, in Cuba, passed away suddenly in Wilmington, North Carolina, on April 1, 2025, at the age of 65.
Jorge's early life was marked by a rich tapestry of cultural experiences. Born in Cuba, his family later moved to Manassas, Virginia, before settling in Costa Rica and Guatemala. His formative years were spent in Mexico City, where he graduated high school at the remarkable age of 16.
With an intellectual curiosity and a keen mind, Jorge pursued higher education with vigor. He earned his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Maryland and went on to attain a Master's Degree in Taxation from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. His academic pursuits laid the foundation for a distinguished career as a Certified Public Accountant, dedicating his expertise to profit and non-profit organizations.
Jorge's life was a testament to kindness, integrity, and generosity. He was a man of responsibility and honesty, known for his patient temperament and kind soul. Friends and family fondly remember him as a giver, always willing to lend his time and energy to those in need.
A devoted husband and father, Jorge is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Annamarie Estrada; his cherished son, Samuel Jose Estrada; his sister, Alina Myers; and his niece, Emily Myers, along with her husband George Chacko. He will also be deeply missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were touched by his gentle spirit and unwavering support.
Jorge had a passion for sports, particularly basketball and football. A loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he relished every game day. Beyond sports, he was an avid reader with a deep appreciation for literature, and he delighted in exploring new culinary experiences.
Preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jose and Maria Estrada, Jorge carried their legacy of warmth and generosity throughout his life.
Friends and family may visit on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 11 am - 1 pm at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, 1535 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403, and where a funeral service will begin at 1 pm.
