Jose D Garcia, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather passed away on February 19, 2025, at the age of 74. He was born on January 2, 1951, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Vicente and Virginia Gallardo. Jose was known for his kind and welcoming personality, always making others feel at ease with his great sense of humor.
Jose proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. His time in the military instilled values of service and dedication that he carried throughout his life.
A cherished family man, Jose loved spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his devoted wife of 20 years, Rebecca O. Garcia, and his daughters Sarah, Jennifer, Nora, and Jolynn. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his sons Noe, Javier, Jose Jr., Brian, Bobby Joe, and Joel. In addition to his children, Jose's family includes 41 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, all of whom adored him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Virginia Gallardo, and his son Ralph Villarreal, both of whom hold a special place in the hearts of the family he leaves behind.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at Winsteads' Funeral Home in Mathis, Texas, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Rosary will be held that same evening at 7:00 PM. The graveside service will take place the following day, Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Cenizo Hill Cemetery in Mathis, Texas.
Jose D Garcia will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a dedicated patriot, and a friend to many. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
