Joseph "Joeman" Nixon was born on February 1, 1957, in Joliet, Illinois, to devoted parents John and Delores (Simpson) Nixon. He peacefully departed this life on November 11, 2025, at Lightways Hospice Center in Joliet.
Joseph received his education through the Joliet Public School system and graduated from Joliet East High School. He went on to build a professional career with Commonwealth Edison/Midwest Generation. Beyond his work, Joseph had a deep passion for motorcycles, Corvettes, and hobbies that brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Delores Nixon; his beloved wife, Cheryl (Carson) Nixon; his sister, Annette McCullum; and his brother, Mark Nixon.
Joseph leaves behind cherished memories with his daughters, Quintina (Roberson) Anderson and Keisha (Tony) Rose; his son, Kyle Nixon; twelve grandchildren; siblings, John (Margaret) Nixon, Debra Betts, and Cary (Joy) Nixon; his aunt, Josephine Kelly; goddaughter, Kelly Weber; Also, special friends, Roger Tooley, Rosco, and Southside, and a host of other relatives and friends who will continue to honor his legacy.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Minor Morris Funeral Home, 112 Richards Street, Joliet, Illinois. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Joliet.
