Joyce Fayrene Lawson Bratton passed away peacefully in her hometown of Wynne on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the age of 79. Joyce was born on December 12, 1945, in Cross County, Arkansas to Wilbur and Ophelia Lawson. She was raised on a simple farm near Village Creek State Park with her siblings Elsie Marie, Raymond, Dottie May, Marion, Tollese and Amy. On July 2, 1966, she married Dudley Malone Bratton, and together they shared 58 years of marriage until his passing. They were blessed with two sons, Garrie Dean and Jerry Lane. Joyce worked for over 25 years at Wal-Mart and at the Wynne Public Schools for many years as a school lunch lady, where her kindness, dedication, and warm smile left a lasting impression on her community. Joyce is remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and memaw and great friend to many. She cared a lot for her puppies, Cujo, Nickie and Missy, they were constant companions to her. She is survived by her sons, Sons: Garrie Dean Bratton (wife Angela) of Wynne and Jerry Lane Bratton of Sherwood, grandchildren, Johnathon, Amanda, Josh, and Jared, great-grandchildren: Abigail, Addison, Landon, Waylon, Jase, Ansleigh, Adeline, Grace, Levi, Nolan, and Everett and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Ophelia Lawson, husband Dudley Malone Bratton in 2024, great grandson, Mason Henry Allen Bratton, and siblings, Elsie Marie, Raymond, Dottie May, Marion, Tollese and Amy Chastin. Memorial services for Joyce will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 2 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 PM before the service.
