Joyce was a Majorette at the time I was Drum Major of the Seminole Band. We were honored as Most Talented in the 1955 school annual. What a friend was she to many people.

Charles and Joyce were THE BEST! They were close friends of my parents (J.R. & Waunell Shumate), at First Baptist Church, Clovis, NM, when I was a teen.
Such fond memories of them and always-fun, always-the sweetest Joyce.

I spoke with Joyce on Saturday. She was writing in a prayer journal and working on getting a letter written for her Sunday School group. She said that her prayers went in the journal daily to pray for everyone she came across throughout her day. She talked about wanting to bless people in her life. I told her that I wanted to be her when I grew up!! She said such positive words to me and said "I love you! You have a blessed day!" Such a beautiful lady. What a legacy you leave behind Joyce.
