Julia "Judy" Owen McRae Johnson, 85, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Hopkinsville, KY, died on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2024 at First Christian Church with Rev. Catherine DeMoss officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
A native of Pembroke, KY she was born October 4, 1939 the daughter of the late James Franklin McRae and Pauline Barger McRae. She was the Christian Education Director at First Christian Church where she was a long-time member, deaconess, served on the church board, a Sunday school teacher, and was a part of numerous other committees within the church. She was also an associate member of the Junior Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hal W. Johnson Jr.
Survivors include her daughter: Julia Lane (Stephen) Bond; her son: Hal W. "Will" (Kristi) Johnson III; and her grandchildren: Alec Stephen Bond, Helen McRae Johnson, Julia Geier Johnson, Hal William Johnson IV, George Deatherage Johnson, Lucille Lane Martha Johnson, Westel Paulos Johnson, and Hutchinson Early Johnson.
