Julie Ann Horner, 62, of Medina, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Julie was born on March 7, 1962, in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to John and Constance (Wagner) Yeatter. After graduating from Medina High School Julie married Dan E. Hawkins on July 3, 1982 and he would preceded her in death on April 5, 1995. On October 10, 2011, Julie married Carl Horner, and they have shared over 13 wonderful years together. Julie worked in fast food for most of her life and when she wasn't working, she enjoyed going for walks at the park, fishing, gardening, playing dice and card games, pets, and had a love for people.
Julie is survived by her husband Carl of Akron; children Rachael and her husband Zachary Vannoy of Creston, Mitchell Hawkins and his girlfriend Jaz Wiles of Akron, and John Griffin of Akron; grandson Sawyer Vannoy; brother John (Jennifer) Yeatter of Medina; nephews Kyle and Jacob; and grand dogs Gimli and Peep.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Dan Hawkins.
Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Friday, March 7th, 2025, at 2:15 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles Club of Medina with more details to come soon.
