It is with a dash of whimsy and a spoonful of love that we celebrate the vibrant life of Karen Elaine Delgado, known affectionately as 'Blackbird' and 'Silly Willy', born on June 6, 1965, in Houston, TX. Karen was a beacon of courage and resilience, a dedicated family woman with a creative soul that was as colorful as her favorite coloring books. Despite the challenges she faced, Karen danced through life with an infectious rhythm, especially when twirling to the beat of her beloved Cumbia.
Karen's resilience wasn't just remarkable; it was inspiring. Her dedication was not only evident in her relationships but also in her hobbies. Karen was never one to shy away from a good puzzle, often found humming a tune while piecing together yet another masterpiece. An ardent singer and a lover of flashcards, her spirited approach to life was a testament to her unyielding positivity. She was a native Houstonian with an enormous heart, who loved her family fiercely and unconditionally.
Karen is survived by her brothers, Roy and Louis Roman, and sisters, Francisca Roman and Janie Martinez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Garcia and Otilia Roman. As we remember her, let us draw from Psalms 23:6, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever," a verse that perfectly encapsulates Karen's faith and spirit.
Join us in celebrating Karen's life at Carnes Funeral Home, 1102 Indiana Street, South Houston, Texas, 77587 on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 12:00pmCDT.
