Karen Jo Sneary Fontanini, 74, of Dublin, died at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born December 27, 1949, in Lima, to Ivan Dean and Cathy Agnes (Volbert) Sneary who preceded her in death. On June 17, 1978, she married Larry Alexander Fontanini who survives.
Karen had been employed as a secretary at The Ohio State University's Athletic Department, College of Nursing, and College of Higher Ed for over 30 years. Karen was a homemaker for 10 years. She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, where she volunteered for the religious classes and church nursery. She enjoyed going to the theatre, choir and sporting events with family. She was an avid baker, gardener, traveler, coupon shopper, typer, seamstress, swimmer, bowler. She loved spending time with her family.
Also surviving are brothers: Michael Lynn Sneary of Lima, Kevin Gerard (June Nichols) Sneary of Lima; children: Angela Santina Fontanini of Dublin, Melissa Katrina Fontanini of Dublin, Nicholas Anthony (Kristen L.) Fontanini of Columbus; grandchildren: Connor A. and Nolan E.
We would like to express our immense gratitude to Karen's caretakers, Barbara and Erica.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 4th, at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. David Schalk, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, Ohio.
Visitation will be 2-5 p.m., on Sunday, November 3rd at Rutherford Funeral Home at Powell, located at 450 West Olentangy Street, Powell, OH 43065
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or OhioHealth's HomeReach Hospice.
