It is with great sadness that the family of Kate Ann Palmer, age 84, announce her passing. Kate Ann passed away at 8:10 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024, in Granger, IN.
Kate was born on August 30, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late George and Sadie (James) Marienthal.
On August 29, 1963, Kate married William Neal Palmer. William preceded her in death on January 4, 2014. Kate is survived by her children; Rachel Kathryn (Scott) Swanson, Virginia Ann (George) Hrywnak and Jonathan William Noah (Erin) Palmer, five grandchildren; Sophia Hrywnak, Anna Hrywnak, Samuel Swanson, Audrey Palmer and Fiona Palmer, her brother, George Marienthal and her first cousin, C.W. James.
Kate had fond memories of her younger years in Georgia, Illinois and Oklahoma. She called Colorado home for the majority of her life and spent her golden retirement years in Arizona.
Kate raised a family of three kids while working full-time as a medical secretary. She was an avid reader, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed watching and attending Rockies baseball games. One of her pleasures was going out for a fun lunch or dinner with family and friends.
Kate Ann was loved and will be sorely missed by those who knew her well.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to a charity of your choice.
There will be no local services. Cremation will take place.
Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka assisted the family.
