After her husband retired from the Air Force in December 1972, Katherine and Denis returned to Buhl, Idaho, where Katherine then worked for Rangen’s in Accounts Payable until she retired.
After retiring, Katherine enjoyed camping in her RV and some of her favorite places were Quartzsite, Arizona, Fairfield, Hells Canyon, and Cascade. She also liked to sew clothes, crocheting, and growing and canning her vegetables. She loved her cats and always had one or two around.
One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards, especially Pinochle, and she always valued her time spent with friends and fellow Pinochle players. Katherine was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church and later Magic Valley Baptist Church. Her church was important to her as well as the many friends she made there.
