Katheryn Kindermann passed away surrounded by her loving family on October 10, 2025, at the age of 100.
Born on May 16, 1925, to Charles Mongo and Catherine Mongo (nee Marshall), Katheryn was one of two siblings. She attended Cheltenham High School with her sister Theresa. After graduating from Cheltenham High School in 1943, where she was known as 'Cassie' to friends, she met her future husband, Ralph. Soon after the war, Ralph and Katheryn married in 1949, and in 1953 they purchased a house in the growing rural community of Southampton. At the same time, they also found a welcoming home at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she worshiped and volunteered. Katheryn and Ralph were married for over 50 years.
Katheryn was a lifelong animal lover. From her first dog, Lucy Ann, to the many cats she later adopted and cared for, her house was never complete without loving pets and she was an avid supporter of the ASPCA. Katheryn was a lifelong reader and loved mystery and suspense stories. Katheryn also loved art, especially the Impressionist painters. Katheryn loved to play the piano, crochet, and was skilled in needlework. Katheryn loved to crochet blankets and would give them as gifts to her friends and family. Her sarcasm and wit were contagious. Katheryn kept the household together by cooking meals and baking to show her family how much she cared. Katheryn loved desserts, especially ice cream, and she could go for an ice cream sundae any day of the week.
Katheryn never stopped serving her community. She was a long-time employee of the Centennial School District. She volunteered in the Cheltenham High School reunion association to keep up with friends and for the VFW Post to honor Ralph's military service. Through a friend in the church, she volunteered to help sew costumes for the Mummers in Philadelphia, a contribution she was proud of. Later in life, she could be found volunteering at places including the local polls, the Southampton Free Library, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with her friends.
Katheryn cherished her close-knit family, especially her nephews David, Carl, Paul, Bobby, and Jackie Kindermann, along with her nieces Bernice, Ruth, Terry, and Barbara. She loved her daughter Sandra, son-in-law Sigmund, and grandson Jonathan. She is remembered by many more people whose lives she made an indelible impact on.
Family and friends are invited to Katheryn's Life Celebration on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 12:00pm until her funeral service at 1:00pm, at McGhee-Givnish Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave, Southampton, PA, 18966. Interment will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

My oldest friend has been received into Heaven. Kathy Kinderman was my across-the-street neighbor on Cherry Lane. She watched Rikki grow up, and prayed with me when I had hoped for another baby. We would cry together, and laugh together, and garden together, and eat chocolate together... Lol and support each other with lenghtly and loving conversations, outings, and hugs. She was akin to a grandmother to me; wise, whitty, and kind. The Lord called her home after 100 years on this earth. "I will miss you Kathy and I'm so grateful for all the wonderful memories and times you supported me when my world was falling apart. Your steadfast and unwavering strength and love held my heart . Enjoy heaven! Give my parents a hug from me.... until we meet again"
