Graveside funeral services for Katheryne Belinda Hoover Tyson, 72 of Woodville,MS will be held at Natchez City Cemetery on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11AM with Claire Shields and Bro, Daniel Jackson officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Katheryne Belinda Tyson was born on Saturday, March 01, 1952 in Mineola, TX. and passed away Friday, November 08, 2024 in Woodville, MS. Our Beloved MeKat.
Katheryne Tyson was known best as "MeKat" by those that she loved most. She was a woman of many interests and talents. In her earlier years, she found joy in playing video games and board games with her grandsons. Her granddaughters held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the time she spent with them. A devoted older sister, she was always there to lend a helping hand and offer words of wisdom.
Kathy was an avid hunter and spent countless hours in the outdoors with her beloved husband, sharing a passion for nature. She was also a history enthusiast and loved sharing her knowledge with her grandchildren.
Her love for nature extended beyond hunting. She had a particular fondness for redbirds and often spent time admiring their beauty. Her creative side shone through with her talent for painting ceramics, and she also enjoyed the challenge of completing puzzles.
Above all, she cherished the companionship of her beloved little dog, Delilah. She was loved and will be missed by all. May she find peace and comfort.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Tyson, father, Charles Hoover, mother, Melba Lee Griggs, and brother-in-law, Wayne Bolyer.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kristy Edwards of Eagle River, AK, and Ginny Cutrer (Phillip) of Woodville, MS; 8 grandchildren, Chance Edwards of Pace, FL, Christopher Houghton (Amy) of Brookhaven, MS, Jarred Edwards (Tammy) of Meldenhall, England, UK, Stephen Crain (Nikki) of Natchez, MS, Jordan Graffia (Zach) of Maringouin, LA, Phillip Cutrer II of Huntsville, AL, Kristina Seyfarth (fiance', Austin Addington) of Hattiesburg, MS, and Cassi Haydel (fiance', Garen Shawback) of Eagle River, AK; 11 great-grandchildren, Kade Edwards, Brenna Edwards, Wyatt Houghton, Weston Houghton, Benjamin Houghton, Fraya Edwards, Felix Edwards, Brantley Crain, Lucas Crain, Magnolia Grace Crain, and Hudson Graffia. 2 sisters, Nell Byrd (Rickey) of Vidalia, LA and Mitzi Bolyer of
Ferriday, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Those honoring Kathy as pallbearers will be Christopher Houghton, Stephen Crain, Phillip Cutrer, and David Cooley.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chance Edwards, Jarred Edwards, Phillip Cutrer II, Ronnie Tyson, Rickey Byrd, Austin Addington, Jessie Bolyer, Zach Graffia, and Johnathan Wilson.
