Keith Earl Teeter passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born in Lubbock, Texas, and later moved to Oney, Oklahoma, where he grew up and attended school. In his early twenties, Keith met the love of his life, Sonja Kaye Hodges. The two married soon after and spent 47 wonderful years together. During that time, they were blessed with two children, Nathan and Emily. The family eventually made their home in Carter, Oklahoma, where they spent many years building a life filled with love, hard work, and community. Keith had a lifelong passion for agriculture, a love he proudly passed down to his children. He was actively involved in livestock showing and especially enjoyed working with his brother-in-law, Edward Carter, raising hogs. Later in life, Keith and his wife moved back to her hometown of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, where they have spent their remaining years together.

Keith spent much of his career as a gas compressor mechanic, a role that took him overseas for extended periods. He found pride in his work and joy in the stories and memories he brought back from his travels, which he loved to share with friends and family. Keith took his sports seriously maybe a little too seriously, depending on who you asked. A diehard Oklahoma Sooners fan, he rarely missed a football or softball game and could be heard coaching from his lazy boy as if the team could hear him. He was also a fiercely loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, though their performance often tested his patience at times. Those who knew Keith knew he had a big heart and cared deeply for those close to him. He often showed it in a straightforward way-through brief but heartfelt phone calls throughout the day or a quick encounter when he was out and about.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Sonja Teeter of the home; son Nathan Teeter of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; daughters Melodee Thurman and her husband Dustin of Carnegie, Oklahoma, and Emily Freie and her husband Steven of Anadarko, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sisters Kathy Carter of Carter, Oklahoma and Karen Stamper and her husband Steve of Clinton, Oklahoma. His grandchildren-Ronee Finch, Zoen Finch, Hannah Freie, Henry Freie, Tyharrah Freie, Jeremiah Freie, Brooklyn Freie, and Keanna Freie-along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lauretta and Kenneth Harold Teeter Sr, brother, Kenneth Harold Teeter Jr, brother-in-laws Edward Carter and Mike West, and his nephews Erin Teeter and Richie West.

Keith will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
