Anthony David "Tony" Belson, born on August 22, 1945, in Liverpool, England, peacefully passed away on June 22, 2025, in Gulfport. He lived a life dedicated to service and love, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by many.
Tony served honorably in the U.S. Army for six years. After his military service, he contributed to his community by working as a Medical Transporter for Merit Health Hospital, where his compassion and dedication were evident in all he did.
Growing up, Tony graduated from high school. He had a profound appreciation for the outdoors, often spending his time gardening and nurturing his beloved plants. In his younger years, he found joy in surfing, which reflected his adventurous spirit.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Frances Elaine Belson, and their children: Stuart Rudd (Natalie), Angela LeMaire (Joseph), Brittany Thornton (Johnathon), and Cheyenne Montgomery (Dylan). He was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren, Elaine, Sophia, London, Camilla, Scarlett, Maxwell, Molly, Adam, and Amber who brought immense joy to his life. His sister, Denise J. Wilson, along with his nieces, Tiffany, Courtney, Mary, and his cousin, Peter Murtough, also survive him, sharing in the fond memories of a remarkable man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Doris Joan Belson, who will forever be remembered alongside him.
A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 11 AM at Crest Lawn Cemetery, 4111 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
