Daniel Gonzalez Obituary

Daniel Gonzalez
02/11/1945 - 10/20/2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Gonzalez, who transitioned to eternal rest on October 20, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on February 11, 1945, Daniel lived a life marked by dedication, joy, and a love for family and friends.

Daniel devoted 42 years of his life to the City of Laredo Public Works as a Heavy Machine Operator, a role from which he retired in 2005. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for life outside of the workplace. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, he found great pleasure in watching games and sharing those moments with loved ones, often accompanied by very loud conjunto music that echoed the joy in his heart.

A lover of the great outdoors, Daniel cherished fishing and enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home, where laughter filled the air. He was well-known for his culinary skills, particularly when it came to preparing his beloved menudo outdoors, a dish that brought people together and created lasting memories. Daniel's zest for life was infectious; he was a big jokester, always laughing and ready to bring a smile to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Emilia Gonzalez; and his siblings, Guillermo Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, Jr., Rodolfo Javier Gonzalez, Consuelo Casarez, Teofilo Gonzalez, and Graciela Morales; his great-great granddaughter, Amilia Sophia Hinojosa.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years of marriage, Clementina Gonzalez; his children, Daniel (Maria Christina) Gonzalez, Jr., Rosario Gonzalez, and Jose Luis (Sarah) Gonzalez; his grandchildren, Susan Stephanie (Eduardo) Esparza, Daniel Gonzalez III, Katarina Isabella Gonzalez, Samantha Renee (Thomas) Caffey, Aspen Danielle Muñoz (Jesús Mercado), Gilbert Gonzalez, Jacob Gonzalez, and Sara Gonzalez; his great-grandchildren, Ashley Brianne Elizondo, Clarissa Renee Esparza, Sophia Danielle Esparza, Rosario Renee Ramos, Trinity Faith Valdez, and Jorgie Ibarra; his great-great-granddaughter, Emma Mae Elizondo; his siblings, Yolanda Garibay, Ana Maria Guzman, and Sylvia Lucio. He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving condolences on Thursday evening, October 30, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services, 1410 Jacaman Rd.; where a Prayer Service will commence at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday morning, October 31, 2025 departing at 9:30 a.m. from Joe Jackson North Funeral Chapels to Buen Pastor Asamblea De Dios for a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m.

A private cremation will be held at a later date.

Pallbearers will be: Daniel Gonzalez, Jr., Jose Luis Gonzalez, Daniel Gonzalez III, Gilbert Gonzalez, Reynaldo Casarez and Thomas Caffey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Alfredo Gonzalez and Rosario Renee Ramos.

The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to: Dr. Carlos Espinosa, Doctors Hospital ICU staff, and family and friends near and far that were with them until the end.
