Lana Lynn Bethel, 56, of Reno, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at Paris Regional Health, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. There will be a Celebration of Life for Lana at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tiny Freelen officiating.
Lana was born on August 19, 1968, to Myra Goodwin and Willis Smith in Lamar County. She graduated from Paris High in 1986. Served in the United States Army 86-88 and Army Reserves 88-94. She spent 20 years as a nurse, and ultimately achieved her master's degree in nursing.
She is survived by son Aaron Clay and wife Katie of Reno, TX; daughter Bailey Fisher and husband Jarvis of Reno, TX; brother Vince Gallimore of Portland, TN; sister Tracy Laster of Wickliffe, KY; brother Marshall "Mark David" Ballard of White House, TN; sister Kay Kendrick of Alverado, TX; brother Ronald Ballard of Sulphur Springs, TX; brother Johnny Ballard of Sulphur Springs, TX. Bonus Sons Dustin Williams of Denton, TX, and Tyler Helms of Paris, TX. Grand children Ebony, Kamron, Kingston, Lilly, and Lilah.
Preceded in death by Myra Ann Seals, Willard E. Ballard, Eva Joe Welch, Rosiy Ballard, Teresa Crawford, and Janice Mohon.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Texas Oncology-Paris, Dr. Ganguly's office, and the staff of Paris Regional Health for all of their support.
