Lana Sims Obituary

In loving memory of Lana Fay Sims (James). She was born on January 11th, 1957 to Charles F James and LaMona D James (Martin). She passed away surrounded by family on October 9th, 2025.
She was married to the love of her life Sherman "Lynn" Sims for almost 30 years. She had 5 children Aaron Higdon (Amanda) Traci Hidgon, Brittany Higdon-Colin (Guadalupe), Tiffany Shuck (Steve) and Shannon Sweazey, and also 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and another on the way. Her siblings Eddie Cunningham (Martha Jo), Mickey James (Sue), Dawn Tyler (Rick).
Lana was a lifelong resident of Greenwood.
She was a lifetime Womens Auxiliary member of the Greenwood VFW post 5864. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She loved keeping in touch with friends and family on Facebook. She helped many kids in the community with a place to stay or something to eat, she had the biggest heart. But she truly loved her grandkids and loved to spoil them all during every holiday.
She loved the autumn weather and absolutely loved Christmas and made it magical for her kids and grandchildren even in the hardest of times. This is such a great loss for her family and friends, but we have comfort in knowing she is now pain-free and completely healed, resting in the arms of Jesus.
Visitation will be held On Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 10 AM until 12 PM. A funeral procession will follow for burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Geenwood, Indiana.
