LaNell Howell Obituary
LaNell was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Howell, parents Glen and Georgia Osburn, In laws Lane and Jody Howell, brother Glen Osburn, sister Nancy George.
Survived by her daughter Kelley Morris, fiancé Rod Taylor and grandson Sam Morris, sister Glynette McTeer, husband Tom, nephews Brandon and wife Sylwia, Quinton and fiancé Sarah, sister Genise Robinson, husband Lee, niece Marcia Enns, great nephews Torrey Casper, wife Cheyna, Cody Shreffler, wife Cheyanne, Wyatt Enns, great-great nephews Raidyn Casper, Eli Shreffler, great-great nieces Kapri Casper, Sloan Casper, Ginny Shreffler, Charlie Shreffler, bonus sister Margaret Rice (insert Cindy and family info). Sister-in-law Cindy Trueblood, her husband Kevin Trueblood, her nephews Tyler Trueblood and his wife Jean, Mason Trueblood and his wife Justene.
LaNell's one and only airplane trip was to Italy on her honeymoon. After her honeymoon, travel consisted of motorhome trips up and down the coast of California and all over Oregon. Crater Lake, Lake Powell and Avila Beach were some of her favorite places. There were several road trips with Glynette, Brandon and Quinton, and sister trips with Glynette and Genise. After Charlie's death she purchased her dream beach bungalow which she enjoyed sharing with family and her many friends!
LaNell worked at Calcot, The Bakersfield Californian, Taft College in the TIL program and Dr. Saslow's medical office.
A HUGE part of LaNell was her service to others through the following organizations: Soroptimist International, Assistance League/Bargain Box, David's Cradle/Angel Gowns, Relay for Life, JJ's Legacy and Civic Dance Center's Nutcracker Ballet for over 30 years.
LaNell's service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home at 3700 River Bend in Bakersfield on Wednesday 10/2 at 11:00am. Reception will be held at Stockdale Country Club at 7001 Stockdale Hwy on the same day at 1:15pm
