It is with broken hearts and boundless love that we share the passing of our precious Aubrey Ann Wiita born April 24, 2011, who left this world far too soon on October 18, 2025. Though her time with us was far shorter than we ever imagined, her impact was profound, and the love she gave remains etched into the lives of all who knew her.
Aubrey is the radiant light at the center of her family. She is the beloved daughter of Dave and Kim Wiita, and the deeply cherished sister of Lexi, whose bond was unshakable. She is the adored granddaughter of Papa and Grandma Wiita (Mike and Cheryl) and Papa and Mum Mum Bruneel (Frank and Geralyn), whose lives she brightened with her laughter, her hugs, and her unmistakable presence. She is a treasured niece to Frank and Stacie Bruneel, Tatee Nicki Bruneel, and Lisa and Ben Hughes. She is the favorite cousin to Franke, Bee (Elisabeth), Brianna, Nathan, Natalie, Isabella, and Emersyn who weren't just family, but lifelong friends who shared endless joy, mischief, and memories.
Aubrey is embraced in Heaven by the arms of her great-grandparents Frank and Mary Ann Bruneel, Daniel and Patricia Kojack, August and Lorraine Savage, and Virginia Lawson; as well as her cousin Michael Gabriel. She is also joyfully greeted by her beloved dog Bodie.
What set Aubrey apart was her unwavering faith. She devotedly went to Mass on Sundays and was an avid volunteer within many roles in the parish. She especially loved serving our Lord as an altar server as well as spreading her faith by teaching young children at Vacation Bible School.
Aubrey's soul was pure, passionate, and vibrant. She was a light in every room because her energy, smile, and genuine heart naturally drew people in. She poured herself wholeheartedly into everything she did whether it was standing on the pitcher's mound with grace and grit, serving up aces in volleyball with unwavering determination, or dropping a fishing line into the water but only after her cousins baited her hook for her. She lived life fully, fearlessly, and with joy.
She adored lake sunsets, bubble gum skies and landscapes that resembled a Bob Ross painting. Her favorite days were spent tubing behind Papa's boat, sharing lunch dates at Olga's with Mum Mum, taking Grandma and Papa's money by winning card games, acting as a role model to her younger cousins and laughing through late-night chatting with her older cousins. She radiated joy and style loving all things pink, Sephora trips, and skincare that made her glow. Her go-to favorites were popcorn, pizza, and parmesan cheese. She proudly cheered on the Detroit Tigers, loudly sang Taylor Swift songs, and lovingly doted on Skipper, Papa and Mum Mum's beloved dog.
Aubrey's life was one of deep connection. She didn't just pass through the world; she lit it up. She made others feel seen, loved, and reminded us to be ourselves, love freely, and hold tight to faith. Her absence leaves a profound ache, but her laughter, smile, and spirit live on in every heart she touched.
To honor her radiant light, the family invites all attending to wear pink. Let pink be our promise to carry her love forward. To continue Aubrey's mission of serving the community, consider calling to make a donation to the Christmas Wish List at Big Family of Michigan in Aubrey's honor (Christmas Wish List | Big Family of Michigan).
