Ms. LaShonda T. Thomas
LaShonda was born on August 24, 1982, in Edwards, MS to Clementine Thomas and the late Leonard "Ross" Johnson. Lashonda was a beacon of strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. Despite facing a lifelong battle with sickle cell anemia, she triumphed with grace and determination, proving that even the most formidable challenges can be overcome. Her courage and perseverance served as a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
Lashonda's infectious smile, warm spirit, and ability to uplift others left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. She had a unique gift for making people feel valued and loved, and her life was a testament to the power of hope and the strength of the human
spirit. Her legacy will forever inspire those she touched to live with purpose, courage, and compassion. LaShonda was a God-fearing woman who found spiritual nourishment in the fellowship of Resurrection Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Anna L. Roach. She
also attended services at Partners in Christ, led by Pastor Richard Hicks, where she formed meaningful connections within the congregation. LaShonda was a loving wife, wonderful mother, and a loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend. LaShonda was proceeded in death by her father, Leonard "Ross" Johnson; grandparents, Wilson and Nettie Lou Thomas; three brothers, Jeffrey, Anthony and Kenneth Thomas; three uncles, Clifton and Wilson Thomas, and Moses Coins; two aunts, LueBertha Coins and Carolyn Herring.
LaShonda leaves to cherish her memory; her husband, Anthony Thompson; three beautiful children Kentavius Hopkins, Damion Thomas and Harmonie Thompson; her mother, Clementine Thomas; four sisters, Patricia, April, Constance, and Clara Thomas; Mother-in-law, JoAnne Thompson and Father-in-law, John E. Thompson; six aunts, Katie Thompson, Angela Hamilton, Jessie Thomas, Shenita Brize, Renee Martin, and
Shirley Thomas: two special "aunties," Truly Coins and Vivian "Vera" Wright; two uncles, George and Curtis Lee Thomas; nieces, Tamera Thomas, Kelsa Thomas, Mar'Nya Tyler and Zian Thomas; nephews, Kendarius Thomas; two great nephews; goddaughter, D'Lexis
Miller and a host of cousins and close friends.
