Leema was born in Lubbock Texas where she attended elementary. Her family moved to Austin and she attended Lamar junior high and graduated in 1982 from McCallum High School. Leema worked with her Mom and stepdad cleaning swimming pools. She accepted Christ as her savior and was baptized under the Montopolis Bridge in Austin Texas. Leema was a member of Austin first church of the Nazarene and did secretary work for a short time. She had a passion for drawing and drew a big longhorn at the bottom of the pool for one of the UT basketball coaches. and McConaughey Veterinarian Clinic. She moved to Little Oklahoma in 2011 and worked for a short time at Davis correctional facility in medical records. Her son Timothy soon moved in with her in 2012 until his death in 2019. Leema spent the last few years drawing, sewing, beading. And enjoyed quilting with her aunt Leona. Leema & i became best friends when we were in 7th grade. We became sisters by our bond we shared. And up to this day, we still remained best friends. She was such a sweet, upbeat person. Her smile & personality would light up a room. She was so full of life. When I saw her when she was sick with this cancer, she still smiled & laughed. My sister & I talked about our crazy childhood when we was growing up together. I had to fight back the tears cause I wanted to be strong for her. I can't believe she's gone already. But I know she's with our Lord & pain free. And we will see each other one day again. I love you & miss you sister
