Leigh Burnett Carr, born on August 6, 1949, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on September 26, 2024 in Ruidoso. She lived a life filled with dedication, love, and accomplishments that touched many.
Leigh began her career as a legal secretary/paralegal in Austin, Texas. With hard work and determination, she and her husband, Ruben Sanchez, established R&L Surveying Company in Frederick, Maryland. For 27 years, Leigh served as the president of the company, where her clients held her in high regard, appreciating her professionalism and commitment.
After retiring, Leigh embraced her role as a loving grandmother. She found joy in spending time with her granddaughter Kaeley Carr, as well as Ruben’s grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Leigh is survived by her beloved husband, Ruben Sanchez; son, Sean Carr; granddaughter, Kaeley Carr; step-daughter, Victoria Sanchez, and her husband, Bryant Clayton; step-grandson, Asher Clayton; and step-granddaughter, Ellarose Clayton. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Burnett; mother, Pat Burnett; step-father, Mike Levi; sister, Claire Burnett; and half-brothers, Robert and Mike.
Leigh's legacy of kindness and her enduring spirit will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
