Lena J. Ikerd Cannon, 84, of Vancleave, MS, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at her home in Vancleave, MS. She was born November 22, 1938, in Vancleave, MS.
Lena graduated from Vancleave High School, MGCCC and the University of Southern Mississippi, and was a teacher with the Jackson County School District. She was a member of Oak Grove Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, playing piano, exploring outside and animals.
Lena is preceded in death by her father, W. Alonzo Ikerd, mother, Nellie Q. Tanner and stepfather, George Tanner.
She is survived by her Quave Road family and friends, as well as her 3 devoted nieces and their families.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit from 10:00am – 11:00am. Burial will follow at the Antioch Cemetery in Vancleave, MS.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
