Lenda Curry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ozark Funeral Homes - Anderson on Sep. 12, 2024.
Lenda Sue Curry, age 61, of Pineville, Missouri, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, after a recent decline in health. She was born on September 20, 1962, in Abilene, Texas, the eldest of two children born to Richard Edward "Ed" and Bernice Francis (Seltz) Sprenkle. Lenda's journey through life was marked by love, dedication, and service to those around her.
The daughter of an Air Force serviceman, Lenda's early years were spent in various locations across the country, instilling in her a sense of adaptability and resilience. She completed her high school education in Bronte, Texas, graduating in 1980. She furthered her education by attending Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. On July 24, 1982, Lenda married her beloved husband, Vic Curry, and together they embarked on a life filled with joy and the blessings of a growing family. The couple welcomed four children into the world and made a loving home for them, first in Texas and later in Pineville, Missouri, where they settled in 1993.
Lenda's professional life was characterized by her meticulous nature and her commitment to her role at Wal-Mart Corporate, where she worked in the accounts payable and bookkeeping department since 1998.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Lenda's heart was truly at home. She was a devoted member and Bible School Teacher at White Rock Church of Christ, where her faith and love for God shone brightly. Lenda's passion for teaching and her ability to share the wisdom of the scriptures touched many lives within her church community.
Family was the cornerstone of Lenda's world. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Vic Curry, and their four children: Richard Curry and his wife, Kristina, of Pineville; Sarah Curry, also of Pineville; Jacob Curry and his wife, Felicia, of Fairview, Missouri; and Bethany Mix and her husband, Chris, of Pineville. Lenda's legacy continues through her fourteen grandchildren, with the joyous anticipation of the fifteenth. Her mother, Bernice Sprenkle of Pineville, will hold dear the memory of her daughter's unwavering love and strength. Lenda's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and a host of friends who were fortunate to have known her.
Lenda's love for her family was unparalleled, especially for her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness. She had a nurturing spirit and a generous heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her ability to care for people was evident in every aspect of her life, and she could never say no to anyone in need. Her kindness and selflessness will be remembered by all who were graced by her presence.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2024 at Hillcrest Church of Christ in Neosho, Missouri with Pastor John Deffenbaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Hazel Green Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Richard Curry, Jacob Curry, Chris Mix, Zac Sprenkle, Daniel Sprenkle and Chad Seltz. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
