Janice E. Willmarth, age 82, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1943, in Ortonville, Minnesota, to the late William H. Wiese and Esther L. (Hinneberg) Wiese.
Janice's professional journey began shortly after she graduated from Ortonville High School. After completing beauty school, she served as a beautician before pursuing further education at Stautzenberger College. There, she earned an Administrative Assistant degree, which paved the way for a successful career. For 20 years, she worked tirelessly at Angelo's Spaghetti House on Stickney Ave., where her friendly demeanor and attentiveness made her a cherished member of the team.
Throughout her life, Janice had a variety of interests. She had a profound love for crocheting, dedicating countless hours to crafting beautiful pieces that brought joy to her family and friends. Her passion for creativity was matched by her appreciation for simple pleasures; she found delight in watching the Game Show Network, reading books, and cooking and baking. She lovingly shared her cherished recipes with her grandchildren, instilling in them the traditions she held dear.
Janice was a devoted family member, always prioritizing the well-being of her loved ones. Her nurturing spirit was evident as she assisted her son with his paper route during his childhood. She often described her family time as precious moments, deeply cherishing the opportunity to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. In recent years, her granddaughter Kelsi provided exceptional care for Janice, assisting her with daily tasks, cooking, and laundry, demonstrating the unwavering bond they shared.
A proud homebody, Janice lived a life of simplicity, emphasizing the importance of family and togetherness. Alongside her husband, she was an active member of a bird club, where they cultivated friendships and enjoyed nature’s wonders together.
Janice leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Those left to forever cherish her memory are her loving children, Commodore (Theresa) Jones, Patricia Jones, Heidi (Ken) Dunbar, and Elizabeth (Terry) Mattox; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three nephews; and many other loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Edward Willmarth; and brother, Leroy Wiese.
