Mae Johnson Obituary

Mae Marsha (Gabel) Johnson, 84, of Troy, Kansas passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mae was born on May 7, 1940, in Ness City, Kansas to Mike and Clara (Meis) Gabel. She worked at Rexall Drug Store, Troy, Kansas for Albert Zimmerman. She also cleaned the Post Office of Troy and did sewing and alterations for many people in the surrounding area, Mae served people well. Mae married Ray G. Johnson on November 19, 1961, in Ness City, Kansas. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Erma Ferguson, brothers, Russ and Mike Gabel and a grandson, Zach Johnson. Survivors: daughters, Pam McNemee (Robin), Connie Nuzum (Tim) and Lisa Johnson. Grandchildren, Clinton and Jeff McNemee, Evan, Ehren, Ian and Ethan Nuzum and 10 great-grandchildren. Mae wishes were to be cremated with no services. Private family inurnment at a later date.
