Rock Hill, SC – Mrs. Lillian Novella Foster Hafner, 94 went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Wellmore of Tega Cay.
The family will receive friends 1:30 pm until service time on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at College Park Baptist Church, 1209 Eisenhower Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 pm at the church with the Rev. Luke Mayfield officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Rock Hill, SC.
A native of Kannapolis, NC, Mrs. Hafner, was a daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt Foster and Lola Creason Foster. Lillian graduated from Fort Mill High School in 1946. She retired from Duff-Norton in Charlotte, NC. She will be remembered as an avid reader, who loved to travel with her church and friends. She had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help other people. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Legion, Post 43 in Fort Mill, SC, where she served as secretary for many years. She always enjoyed serving our veterans in the nursing home. She was a faithful member of College Park Baptist Church for over 60 years, where she was active in her Sunday School Class and a member of the JOY Group. Lillian never met a stranger and touched the lives of so many. She had a sweet smile and a kind word for everyone she associated with.
Surviving are two sons, Dale E. Hafner of Farragut, TN and Rieck Hafner (Tammi) of Rock Hill, SC; a daughter, Pamela Hafner Ellis (Rick) of York, SC; a sister, Sue Worthington of Smyrna SC; a brother, Tommy Foster of Chester, SC; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Kenneth (Ken) Hafner; sisters, Ethel Whisenant, and Winona Wingate; a grandson, Christian David Hafner.
Memorial donation may be made to College Park Baptist Church, 1209 Eisenhower Rd., Rock Hill, SC 29730-3240.
Lillian was the best Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister and Friend who will be greatly missed.
