Lillian Ruth Krohn, affectionately known as "Doodle," passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024, in Carrollton, Carroll County, Kentucky. She was born on August 1, 1943, in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments throughout her life, Lillian embraced her role as a dedicated homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she was known for her kind heart and unwavering support to those around her.
Doodle had a variety of interests that brought her joy. She found pleasure in watching her favorite television shows, particularly "Mama's Family" and "Little House on the Prairie." She had a fondness for country music, which often filled her home with melody. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family, creating lasting memories that they will carry forward.
Lillian is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Eugene Krohn, Jr. of Carrollton, KY, and her daughters, Tammie (Edgar) Polley of Alexandria, KY, Tina (Steve) Rosenbaum of Carrollton, KY, and Regina Miles of Carrollton, KY. She also leaves behind her stepdaughter, Michelle (Donnie) Sandlin of Hanover, IN, and a sister, Peggy Marsh of Carrollton, KY. Lillian was a proud grandmother to fourteen grandchildren and a great-grandmother to eighteen great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember her warmth and guidance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Smith and Mary Ruth Harmon Smith, her daughter, Penny Brown, her sister, Carolina Williams, and her great granddaughter, Gracie Mae Collins.
Visitation for Lillian will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in the I.O.O. F. Cemetery in Carrollton.
The legacy of Lillian Ruth Krohn will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her for her unconditional love and the joy she brought into their lives.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to the family through the funeral home.
