Linda Allen, born on December 28th, 1947, on a train in Clarksville, Tennessee passed away peacefully at her home on May 22, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was 77 years old. Linda was a devoted and loving partner, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a wonderful friend to many.
Linda shared 51 years of love and companionship with her beloved partner, Bill Bowers. Their years together were filled with love, laughter, cherished memories and a deep bond that will continue to live on in Billy's heart.
Linda lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of everyone around her. She loved gardening and maintained the best-looking lawn on the block. She loved traveling, her backyard oasis, fish aquariums, antiques and trying her luck at the casinos on slot machines. Linda's passion was cooking, and she was excellent at it. She prepared enough food to feed an army, and you never left her table hungry. Linda was a proud graduate of Manual High School in 1965 and a college graduate in 1975 at Bellarmine University, both in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a dedicated Welding Supervisor and Time Study Engineer at Louisville Tin & Stove Company for 40 years and retired in 2015. She was the family Matriarch; always the peacemaker and the glue. She was the happiest when surrounded by family and friends, especially during the holidays when she hosted special events. Linda was lovingly known as "L.A.", and for her sharp wit, love of life, fashionable attire, always dressed in sparkle and animal print. She was always smiling and up for a good time.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Homer Grim and Vaudia Elizabeth (Guffey), her brothers John Grim, Steve Grim, Michael Grim, Daniel Grim and her brother-in-law, Barry Wank. Alongside her partner Billy, Linda is survived by her daughters, Theresa Warren (Alan) and Terri Brock (Nolan). She was Nina to her grandchildren, Heather Kennedy (Matthew), Ericka Hart (Christopher), Ashley Dailey (Austin) and Derek Warren and her great granddaughters, Madelyn Hart, Graceyn Hart and Ava Kennedy and her great grandson, Zander Dailey, who were all blessings in her life. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Wank, and several nieces and nephews, who will continue to carry on her legacy of love for her family.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th from 2pm to 6pm at Ratterman's Southwest Funeral Home in Louisville, Kentucky with a Memorial Service immediately following, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Linda's life and the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
The family would like to thank Hosparus Health, for their wonderful and loving support during this difficult time, especially Linda's Nurse Marsha and CNA Christina, as well as Dr. George Scott of Baptist Health.
