Linda K. Sumner, 78, of Enigma, won her long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, at home surrounded by those she cherished dearly on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
A private graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Tift Memorial Gardens with her grandson, Mr. Evan Goforth officiating.
Ms. Sumner was born November 27, 1945. She had a passion for cooking (& eating!), adventure and traveling, was an animal lover, but most of all, loved quality time with her family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her.
She is survived by her children: Angela (Bobby) Goforth of Enigma, Gerald “Jeri” Sumner, Jr. (Patrick) Lee of Fernandina Beach, Fl., and Jessie Clark Sumner of Tifton; grandchildren, Cherish (Kelly) Osborne of Ocilla and Evan (Nikki) Goforth of Adel and her absolute favorites, four great grandchildren: Kiley and Kellen Osborne and Layla and Lucy Goforth; three sisters, Kathy Bentley and Connie Cordell of Ocala, FL., and Peggy Ducote of Valdosta.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Coone, an amazing step-father, Max Bentley, and her lifetime love, the father of her children, Gerald Allen Sumner.
