Liz "Lula Belle" Sharer Obituary

Liz “Lula Belle” Sharer “Big Mom”, 83, Clear Spring, MD., passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.

Born February 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Alvey and Goldie Hull Reed, and the wife of Kenneth Sharer.

She was a dedicated hard worker all her entire life and spent many years as a careprovider. She was last employed at Washington County Hospital as a nursing assistant, which she took great pride in.

She enjoyed spending time with family and has left many wonderful memories for them to cherish.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard Shives, (Craig Miller), Cumberland, MD.; two daughters, Kendra Atherton, (Terry), Falling Waters, WV. and Kamela Lee, (Bob Rhodes), Big Pool, MD.; two stepsons, Kenny Sharer, (Cindy), Falling Waters, WV., and Brian Dietrich, (Trish), Clear Spring, MD; nine grandchildren, Kelly (Tim), Kerri (Michael), Korey (Jeremy), Jacob (Ashley), Josh, Jarred (Jozzie), Ashley (Shaun), Lexi and Heather; twelve great-grandchildren, Kylee, Tyler, Kierslyn, Michael Kade, Kennadi, Kamilyn, Emmy, Caleb, Owen, Wilder, Zayne, and Shalyn; two great-great-grandchildren, Delaney and Scarlett; two sisters, Edna Hart and Edie Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Shives, Sr.; her second husband, Mick Ricketts; and three sisters, Elsie Weaver, Hazy Fritz, and Evelyn Reed.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 2, 2023, 6-8:00 pm, at Grove-Rogowski Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, MD. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, November 3, 2023, at 11:00 am. Pastor Richard Shives will officiate. Burial will follow at Parkhead Cemetery, Big Pool, MD.
