Funeral services for Lois Elaine Frith Temple, 92 of Tupelo, MS and formerly of Vidalia, LA, will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church at 2PM on Sunday, September 1, 2024 with Bro. Claire Shields officiating. Interment will follow at Start Cemetery at 2902 Magnolia Dr. in Start, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Vidalia First Baptist Church from 1PM until the time of the service at 2PM.
Lois was born on Tuesday, September 8, 1931 in Epps, LA and passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 in Tupelo, MS. She had a servant's heart and was a dear and kind friend to all who knew her. Lois would do anything to help a friend or family member in need. Cooking was one of the many ways she served others regularly. Lois was a strong and joyful woman who cared deeply for her family. While in Vidalia, she was a faithful and active member of Vidalia First Baptist Church where she was a leader of the Young at Heart group. Lois spent her final years loving and being loved by the staff of Griffis House at Traceway Retirement Village in Tupelo, MS.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willis Frith, Sr., mother, Sadie Frith Bradshaw, husband, J.B. Temple, son, Randy Temple, and brothers, Willis Frith Jr., and Preston Frith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Brenda Phillips of Beaumont, TX; son, John Temple (Linda) of Tupelo, MS; daughter-in-law, Debbie Temple of Vidalia, LA; 7 grandchildren: Doug Temple (Shanda) of New Albany, MS; Ginny Elaine of Birmingham, AL; Jordan Temple (Danielle) of Deville, LA; Meagan Hendricks (Josh) of Princeton, LA; Josh Temple (Abbie) of Walker, LA; Jay Phillips and Jill Willman (Chad) of Village Mills, TX; 11 great-grandchildren: Abby Temple of Bartlett, TN; Brooke and Bryce Johnston of Village Mills, TX; Colin Franks of Birmingham, AL; Ryleigh, Parker, Sydney and Skyler Temple of Deville, LA; Chase Hendricks of Princeton, LA; Hayes and Graham Temple of Walker, LA; sister, Edna Watts of Rayville, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Those honoring Lois as pallbearers will be Doug Temple, Jordan Temple, Josh Temple, Jay Phillips, Chuck Frith and Jeffrey Streeter.
