Lonnie B. Dennison died unexpectedly in Albuquerque NM on April 29, 2024, at the age of 52.  Lonnie is survived by his father Johnny B. Dennison of Nageezi, his siblings, oldest to youngest are Roselyn Martinez of Bloomfield, Hendrix Dennison (Esteleen) of Shiprock, Dennis Dennison (Esther) of Farmington, Eddison Dennison of Farmington, Marilyn Betoni of Kirtland, Vangie Dennison of Farmington, Melvin Dennison of Nageezi, and Gwen Dennison of Nageezi. Lonnie is preceded in death by his mother Nellie G. Dennison, brothers John B Dennison II, Ellison Dennison, and sister Sophia Means.Lonnie was born on May 27, 1971, in Shiprock, NM to Johnny B. and Nellie Dennison. His Dine' clan are.Hona'gha'ahnii- One Who Walks Around, Kinyaa'aanii -Towering House, Bilaga'ana/Scotish, and  Ashiihnii -Salt People.Lonnie attended school at Dzilth-Na-O-Dithle and later went onto Bloomfield High School. Lonnie always kept occupied doing countless things around home. His work involved carpentry and home remodeling. He had various skills and knowledge of a lot of things, and he also had fascinations for muscle cars. Lonnie was passionate about music and often indulged in playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed attending music festivals and concerts. Lonnie loved to laugh and joke and just have a good time with his friends and family. He loved his nieces and nephews and payed much attention to them because he didn't have children of his own. He'll be forever remembered by protecting and sticking up for his nieces and nephews when they got in trouble. Lonnie loved the outdoors, and he would escape often to enjoy the wilderness on the rez. Grandfather called him Nakaii yazhi because he had a head full of curls. Lonnie had turned to the Lord, and he was taking part in bible study. He loved his parents very much and he was mother's baby.The graveside service is scheduled on Saturday at 11:00 am May 4, 2024, at Escavada. NM, at the family cemetery High Valley with a reception following. Pallbearers are John Jon Dennison, Jake Dennison, Keah Begay, Kurt Daukei, William Yazzie Jr, Joaquin Betoni, Matt Freeland, Branden Yazzie, Leander Betone, Edereckson Willie. Honorary Pallbearers are Dad Johnny B. Dennison, Roselyn Martinez, Hendrix Dennison, Dennis Dennison, Eddison Dennison, Marilyn Betoni, Vangie Dennison, Melvin Dennisonm, Gwen Dennison, Alton Wood, Cedric Wood.The Dennison family would like to extend their gratitude to those who have called, messaged, or given donations.
