Lorraine was a dear friend of many years that I enjoyed working with as a fellow board member of the Catholic Professional Women's Club. Besides planning many events for this group, including the fund raiser "Shamrock Shenanigans", we also enjoyed dining together at other events. Lorraine was always a good companion and had many wonderful stories to tell.
Her kindness and gentleness and humor were things I treasure. May she rest in the sleep of peace.

I have had to honor to know Lorraine BASSADONNE for over 48 years. Lorraine was my Spanish language teacher for my three years (1976-1979) at Mission High School in San Francisco, California. She reminded me of Jackie Kennedy, with the way she spoke, her hair and her Chanel like two-piece outfits. She was an amazing and important person in my life for multiple reasons: she was my teacher, my mentor, my guide during my university search and my friend. She was always there - when I or another on of her students needed her. Before school or after school. She invested her time and energy in helping me get into University, and being successful along the way. She took me to my first ever ballet - "The Nutcracker", which I still see every year with my family and we think of her. She taught me about our wonderful City of San Francisco, and many places around the world that we spoke about, or visited together or separately. I have hundreds of post cards from her many trips - and I treasure them. I live in Europe now for over 40 years, but everytime I could, I met her somewhere (i.e. London, Spain, etc) or simply visited when in San Francisco. As well as, my daughter Ambre while in San Francisco visited Lorraine, see photo below.
Words can not express the sadness I have had these last few weeks, but I know that she is in a better place. But I miss our conversations and her memory was always as sharp as a hawk.
Dearest Lorraine, thank you, thank you for all that you have given to me, shared with me and the unconditional love that we have had to chance to share all these years. I am so sorry that I can not be there with you in person today to send you off, on your final journey. But know that my heart and those of my family members are hugging you and sending you to heaven with all of our love.
Sincerely yours,
Kathleen "Kathy" Sillard-Salmon, Laurent Salmon, Audrey Salmon, Crystal Salmon, Léa Salmon and Ambre Salmon, too
